Northern Lights Health Foundation’s 6th Annual Hospital Bed Races: A Resounding Success!

[Fort McMurray, Alberta, September 26, 2023] – The Northern Lights Health Foundation is thrilled to announce the resounding success of the 6th Annual Hospital Bed Races, a remarkable event that united the Fort McMurray community in support of healthcare initiatives. The event, presented by Birch Mountain Enterprises LP, a proud member of Fort McKay Group of Companies, took place on Saturday, September 23, in the upper parking lot of Snye Park and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who participated.

“The 6th annual Hospital Bed Races were a resounding success!” exclaimed Greg Fuhr, Chair of the Northern Lights Health Foundation. “We were thrilled to witness the overwhelming support from sponsors, spectators, volunteers, and participants over the weekend. The 2023 Bed Race Campaign has already raised an incredible $63,000 for local healthcare. You have until October 1st to donate to your favorite team Despite intense competition, the event was aimed at improving healthcare in our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved and eagerly anticipate next year’s races!”

Together, they made this event a stunning success. As a first-time attendee, I was blown away by the incredible team spirit and the thrilling sight of hospital beds racing towards a healthier tomorrow.”

“The races were an amazing sight as countless teams, including many new ones, took to the track in a show of support for our local healthcare,” remarked Stephanie MacKenzie, Donor Relations Officer at Northern Lights Health Foundation. “The level of competition was outstanding, whether it was through fundraising, sporting the best costumes, or striving to be the fastest. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, and it was truly a memorable experience. We extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to all the teams who believed in the power of the races, who put in efforts to raise funds, and who played their part in making a difference right here at home. Your dedication and support mean the world to us.”
